Understand the operating fabric

See how Tempera turns source-grounded data, controlled environments, durable agent work, and policy-bound integrations into dependable capability for your team.

Expected outcome

You can describe how Tempera keeps data, evaluation, execution, and integration boundaries connected without reducing the product to one interface or one model workflow.

You can use this public guide without a Tempera account, product credential, or private workspace. Product access begins only after private onboarding.

Before you start

  • One agent workflow that spans more than a few tools, accounts, or environments
  • A clear owner for the policy boundary around sensitive actions

Steps

  1. 01

Start with the work and its evidence

Bring the sources, traces, domain facts, task environments, and systems that define the work your team needs done. Tempera can structure that material into provenance-bearing data, evaluation artifacts, and controlled agent inputs.

  2. 02

    Make the hard parts inspectable

Use bounded environments, verifier-backed evaluation, expert review, and durable workflow state to make an agent's behavior testable before and after it reaches a consequential task.

  3. 03

    Choose the delivery surface

Deliver a data service, private API, SDK, MCP surface, or local control plane according to the job. MCP is useful when an agent needs a policy-bound interface to tools; it is not the only way Tempera creates value.

  4. 04

    Operate at the right boundary

Keep credentials and sensitive data out of model context, use policy and approvals around consequential operations, and preserve local controls when execution reaches devices, regulated data, or physical systems.

What success looks like

  • The team has a clear path from source material and domain evidence to dependable data, environments, and agent workflows.
  • Evaluation, verification, and human judgment can improve work without being treated as a separate manual process.
  • The delivery surface matches the buyer's need instead of forcing every use case through one protocol.
  • Credentials, sensitive data, and consequential operations retain explicit boundaries as the system grows.

If something is blocked

  • If the work starts as a collection of disconnected tools, begin with one workflow and identify the source evidence, decision boundary, and outcome that should stay connected.
  • If an operation has irreversible, financial, credentialed, regulated, or physical effects, define its approval and local safety boundary before allowing an agent to invoke it.
